Job Summary
Lead Operator Water/WastewaterJOB FUNCTION / PURPOSEThe Lead Operator is responsible for training and overseeing the daily activities of Operators solving complex operations problems and performing maintenance and operations activities at water/wastewater treatment facilities.B Water/Wastewater license required (or higher)RESPONSIBILITIES Manages day-to-day activities related to the operation and maintenance of treatment facilities. Allocates work and provides technical direction assistance and training to other personnel. Ensures that all SOPs are followed and that DOT OSHA and other regulatory requirements are met. Recommends improvements to SOPs. Collaborates with the Operations Manager to ensure safety and permit compliance. Coordinates with contract laboratories to ensure proper reporting limits and resolution of QA/QC issues. Communicates with clients and customers regarding routine technical aspects of operations and responds to inquiries. Trains employees on plant operations repair and installation techniques SOPs and safe work practices. Days 7:30-4:00 on call. Performs other duties as EXPERIENCE AND SKILLSEducation/Experience:High School Diploma or GED and 57 years of water/wastewater experience. Previous supervisory experience Drivers License (CDL preferred). Water/Wastewater Operators License specific to state and site-specific requirements. Other licenses may vary according to specific site and :Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and internet tools. Ability to work with basic office equipment and phone systems. Working knowledge of OSHA requirements DOT regulations and Utility SOPs. Advanced knowledge of process control :Communicates clearly and professionally.
