Water Treatment Operator III

What You Will Do:

• Oversee the boilers and effluent treatment equipment

• Troubleshoot and repair minor problems and alert maintenance to major repairs

• Operate a PC to perform various functions such as making process adjustments monitoring operations recording data and reporting problems.

• Operate pumps valves and other equipment for safe and efficient operations

• Maintain a clean safe and environmentally compliant work and storage area

• Work with testing fire systems in building

• Handle waters tests check water softeners and work with water reclamation system

Position Details:

• Location: Bedford Park IL (Clearing)

• Work week and shift for first year: 6AM to 2:30PM M-F

• Work shift after first year: 6PM to 6AM - 12 hour night shift

• Some overtime work may be required for this role

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Previous experience with boiler operation or wastewater treatment

• Ability to read and interpret instructions and manuals in English

• No immigration sponsorship is available for this role

Preferred Qualifications

• Boiler License (NILUPE City of Chicago) or in process of completing Boiler License

Physical Demands:

• Ability to physically perform the essential duties of the position which include lifting stooping kneeling crouching reaching balancing walking standing talking and hearing

• Ability to wear a respirator under certain conditions

• Ability to work in extreme temperatures
