Water Engineer Summer Intern

Role description:

We are currently seeking an engineering intern to join our Water Business Line in our Austin or San Antonio office!

We work to protect our natural environment and water resources while powering our world for future generations. Around the world were feeling the effects of climate change rapid urbanization and loss of biodiversity. Our team assists municipalities and private clients with designing and constructing resilient infrastructure for their water wastewater and stormwater are here to protect our natural environment and water resources while powering our world for future generations.

Role accountabilities:

In this role responsibilities include evaluating planning and designing projects for water wastewater and stormwater treatment and conveyance. You will also be responsible for assessing developing and supporting the design of facilities and infrastructure by assisting with field investigations performing calculations writing technical memos assembling drawings writing specifications and helping with construction phase services. You will also be involved in troubleshooting processes and optimizing operations. This role involves problem solving and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams.

In addition to the responsibilities mentioned you will also:

• Support preparation of reports presentations and other audio-visual materials and participate in client meetings.
• Ensure project compliance with all Arcadis practices and quality health and safety standards and facilitate coordination for timely completion and submission of projects on time and budget.
• Work independently and as part of a team with the flexibility to accommodate collaboration with team members across the U.S. and internationally.
• Learn and use digital tools to enhance customer experience team and client collaboration and project delivery including configuration and deployment of SharePoint and Building Information Modeling (BIM).

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

• Pursuing a BS in Civil Environmental or Water Resources Engineering or another closely related academic discipline.
• Knowledge of engineering concepts theories and practices related to water/wastewater/stormwater.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel Word and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior internship or coursework in water/wastewater water resources or related sectors.
• EIT certification.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per salary range for this position is $22.00 - $31.00 / hour. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors such as experience education budget internal equity project and location.
