For more than 25 years Woodard & Curran has offered contract operations and management services for drinking water municipal and industrial wastewater groundwater remediation and solid waste facilities nationwide. Currently we contract operate more than 50 facilities nationwide. Woodard & Curran draws on the experience of hundreds of certified operators across the country backed by the knowledge and skills of hundreds more engineers scientists and regulatory experts to quickly tackle the most challenging operational issues and keep treatment plants running efficiently and in full compliance.
Woodard & Curran has an immediate opening for a certified wastewater treatment operator in our St. Charles Missouri treatment facility however we are also open to training someone new to the industry who is looking for a stable career opportunity! The Wastewater Operator regularly participates in the daily operations and maintenance of the Wastewater Treatment facility as directed by the Project Manager. Schedule: Monday through Friday: 7:00am - 3:00pm

What will you be doing at Woodard & Curran

  • Monitor water and wastewater treatment plant processes and equipment both manually and via SCADA automation making adjustments as necessary to control their operation.
  • Monitor remote pump stations with inspections and daily sampling as required.
  • Perform water quality sampling testing and analysis to determine compliance with federal state and local regulations.
  • Operate maintain control and perform routine repair of plant equipment including preventive maintenance duties.
  • Utilize software programs for maintenance work orders and maintains all necessary records which entails data entry and report generation including data for preparing the Monthly Operating Report.
  • Perform general maintenance duties of plant and other assigned duties.
  • Participates in the daily operations of the wastewater treatment facility as directed by the Plant/Project Manager.
  • Assists in the operation of assigned treatment mechanical and electrical equipment and other similarly related facility components and equipment.
  • Monitors and controls assigned tasks to ensure cost-effective service to meet budget.
  • Coordinates to ensure that other facility employees follow established administrative safety and operating policies.
  • Transporting biosolids to the landfill.

What will you need to succeed

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent or technical/vocational school background.
  • Valid State of MO Drivers License required.
  • A Class A CDL is preferred.
  • A valid State of Missouri Water or Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators license is preferred or the ability to obtain a minimum of a Missouri DNR Class D wastewater certification as soon as possible.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in process control and follow instructions as well as follow safety procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a DOT background check and DOT pre-placement physical and DOT drug screen before employment.
$30.50 - $36.69 an hour
Please reference this project specific pay addition for facilities that are unionized and receive benefits through the union the benefits may differ from what is listed.

Uncertified Operator - $30.50
Class D Operator - $34.56
Class C Operator - $35.39
Class B Operator - $36.24
Class A Operator - $36.69

Additional $1.50 for being CDL Driver
