Job Summary

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Wastewater Project Engineer for ourArizona offices located in Tempe Tucson and Goodyear. As part of our design and process teams you will be involved with a wide range of wastewater infrastructure projects. This will encompass all phases of design including conceptual/feasibility evaluations project management preparation of design reports permitting development of construction drawings and specifications and support of construction services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of technical treatment strategies selection of treatment processes developing process design criteria and delivering projects
  • Support coordination and collaboration with clients
  • Coordination with internal technical specialists in all practice areas and discipline design professionals for project delivery.
  • Support planning design permitting and construction of wastewater-related projects.
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to effectively meet the clients needs
  • Candidate shall also be able to support preparation of proposals and presentations
  • Fieldwork and site visits from planning through construction may be required with occasional travel

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in civil/environmental engineering
  • PE license
  • 5-12 years of experience in the field of wastewater-related infrastructure including project engineering/management (planning design and construction)
  • Experience in successfully delivering supporting projects spanning multiple years in collaborative multi-disciplinary teams
  • Proficient in all MS Office based computer software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and capable of interacting effectively with staff clients and regulatory agencies
  • Self-starter with attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must be capable of presenting complex issues to nontechnical people

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) in Civil/Environmental Engineering
