Warehouse Team Lead
Job Summary
Job Summary: The Warehouse Team Lead is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations ensuring efficient workflow accurate inventory management and a safe working environment. This role includes supervising warehouse staff coordinating shipments and deliveries and maintaining high standards of productivity and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily warehouse activities including receiving storage order picking packing and shipping.
- Assign tasks and provide direction to warehouse associates to meet operational goals.
- Ensure that all inbound and outbound shipments are processed efficiently and accurately.
- Monitor workflows and adjust as needed to support changing priorities or workloads.
- Lead motivate and train warehouse staff to achieve performance targets.
- Provide coaching and feedback to team members to promote skill development and accountability.
- Assist in scheduling work shifts and ensuring proper staffing levels.
- Support new employee onboarding and ensure adherence to company policies and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with regular cycle counts and audits.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in inventory or shipping documentation.
- Ensure all products meet quality standards before shipment.
- Oversee proper labeling packaging and handling of materials.
- Enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular safety checks and report potential hazards promptly.
- Ensure compliance with warehouse regulations company policies and local laws.
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and cost reduction.
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement improved warehouse processes.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to optimize operations and track performance metrics.
Qualifications:
Required
High school diploma or GED.
3 years of experience in warehouse operations with at least 12 years in a leadership role.
Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred
- Associates or Bachelors degree.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced physically demanding environment.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Knowledge of safety protocols and warehouse best practices.
