Description:
The Warehouse Specialist III will perform limited aspects of technical supply management work (e.g. inventory management storage management cataloging and property utilization) related to depot local or other supply activities. Assignments will require a good working knowledge of the governing supply systems programs policies nomenclature work methods manuals or other established guidelines; an understanding of the needs of the organization serviced; and analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved to collect the necessary data to establish the facts and take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines.
Primary duties will include (but not limited to):
- Perform clerical and physical tasks in connection with receiving managing and shipping goods; recording transactions into automated systems such as Navy ERP or Microsoft Office.
- Perform day-to-day routine tasks following established guidelines. When handling unusual non-routine problems receive specific guidance from supervisor or other officials.
- May direct and coordinate the activities of other workers engaged in handling goods to be shipped or being received.
- Verify that orders are accurately filled by comparing items and quantities of goods gathered for shipment against documents; proper document preparationensuringthat shipments are properly packaged identified with shipping information and loaded into transporting vehicles; and preparing and keeping records of goods shipped e.g. manifests bills of lading.
- Verify the correctness of incoming and outgoing shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded or received against bills of lading invoices manifests storage receipts or other records; checking for damaged goods;ensuringthat goods are appropriately identified for routing to departments within the establishment; preparing and keeping records of goods received or shipped.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Demonstrates good problem-solving skills and experience overseeing accomplishments of multiple tasks and projects at one time.
- Must be able to work independently.ââ
- Must be detail oriented and organized.ââ
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Advanced training preferred.
- 2 - 3 yrs. of experience supporting DoD acquisition programs or relevant military experience
- Mustpossessa valid drivers license.â
- Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) Physical for MHE operation.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Up to 10%
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Operate a light truck (Straight truck less than 1 1/2 tons and typically 4 wheels) passenger vehicle and manually controlled forklift to transport goods and materials of all kinds on base and about a storage facility.
- Operate material handling equipment (MHE) up to 15K capacity.
- Must be able to lift carry move push pull up to 40 pounds unassisted and be willing to wear all required safety equipment.
