National Sugar Marketing (NSM) is seeking dependable hardworking and safety-focused individuals to join our team as a Warehouse Operator I at our Bensenville Illinois warehouse.

This is an excellent opportunity to begin or advance your career in warehouse operations with a company committed to safety teamwork and operational excellence. As a Warehouse Operator I youll receive hands-on training while working alongside experienced Warehouse Operators II & III to support the safe and efficient movement of products that serve customers across the country.

About the Role

The Warehouse Operator I assists with the loading unloading storage and movement of bagged sugar while helping maintain inventory accuracy food safety standards and an organized warehouse environment. This role is essential to ensuring products are received stored and shipped safely and efficiently.

What Youll Do
Warehouse Operations
  • Assist Warehouse Operators II & III with loading and unloading railcars and trucks containing bagged sugar.
  • Store and move products safely throughout the warehouse.
  • Prepare customer orders for shipment.
  • Verify inbound shipments from partner facilities.
  • Assist with inventory control and warehouse documentation.
  • Ensure outbound trucks and railcars are properly sealed and documented.
  • Clean inspect and prepare empty railcars for release.
Safety & Food Quality
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Properly utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain compliance with AIB SQF Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety standards.
  • Help maintain a clean organized and sanitary warehouse.
  • Participate in ongoing safety and food safety training.
Teamwork & Communication
  • Work closely with warehouse operators supervisors and management.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and leadership.
  • Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional warehouse duties as assigned.
What Were Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Drivers License or State-Issued Identification
  • Ability to work safely in a warehouse environment
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Strong attendance and dependability
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous warehouse distribution or manufacturing experience
  • Forklift experience (training may be provided)
  • Food manufacturing or food distribution experience
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

Work Environment

This position is performed in an active warehouse environment and may include exposure to:

  • Indoor and outdoor work areas
  • Changing weather conditions
  • Moving warehouse equipment and machinery
  • Dust and warehouse debris
  • Elevated work areas
  • Warm temperatures
  • Moderate to loud noise levels
Physical Requirements

Candidates should be able to:

  • Frequently lift carry push and pull up to 50 pounds
  • Stand and walk for extended periods
  • Bend stoop squat kneel and climb as required
  • Reach above shoulder level and below the waist
  • Perform repetitive lifting and movement throughout the shift
  • Work safely around forklifts railcars and warehouse equipment
  • Work overtime and occasional weekends as business needs require
