Job Duties
Virginia Military Institute is looking for a Warehouse Assistant to help assist Physical Plant processes and procedures.
Job Duties:
Coordinate delivery of freight and movement of surplus property with customers both internal and external to the department.
Issue materials to maintenance teams and tracks inventory within Computerized Maintenance Management System Megamation.
Coordinate delivery of requested material through work order system
Support Supply mission by assisting with annual inventory audit.
Utilize the CMMS Megamation to account for inventory and to recover the costs through the work order system.
Receive a variety of shipments for VMI verifying and entering receipt of each shipment into CMMS inventory system.
Compare packing slips against purchase orders count items for verification and indicate any discrepancies.
Maintain inventory control for all items ensuring that all items are properly identified and readily accessible.
Offload freight and stock shelves in central location as each delivery arrives; assist in general maintenance and clean-up of stockroom.
Operate the forklift to pull load and move merchandise and materials.
Operate a delivery vehicle with liftgate.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience with computers a must
Frequent lifting and moving of packages required.
Ability to operate a forklift.
Valid drivers license with clean driving record
Additional Considerations
Knowledge of warehouse operations preferred to utilize computerized inventory control system.
High school diploma or GED.
