Walking Foreman-Stevedoring

Job Summary

Supervise and coordinate stevedoring operations vessel loading and discharge activities and workforce assignments to ensure safe efficient and compliant cargo handling operations. Oversee personnel monitor cargo movement enforce safety procedures and support operational planning and execution.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee vessel loading unloading and cargo stowage operations.
• Ensure cargo operations follow approved stowage plans and operational procedures.
• Supervise operators foremen and cargo handling personnel.
• Allocate personnel and resources based on workload requirements.
• Monitor cargo handling equipment and ensure operational readiness.
• Communicate operational instructions using radios and established communication methods.
• Coordinate with regulatory and inspection personnel during cargo operations.
• Monitor compliance with safety procedures and personal protective equipment requirements.
• Document employee performance attendance and operational activities.
• Approve time records and maintain operational documentation.
• Operate material handling equipment when required.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience supervising cargo handling stevedoring logistics or port operations.
• Leadership and workforce management skills.
• Knowledge of cargo loading unloading and vessel operations.
• Forklift operation experience and certification.
• Ability to plan organize and direct operational activities.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Ability to maintain safety and regulatory compliance standards.
• Valid drivers license.
