Job Summary

Job Title: Outpatient - Certified Nurse Practitioner or Certified Physician Assistant

Start Date: Sep 1 2026
Shift Schedule: 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily working Sunday to Saturday (including Federal holidays).
  • Available coverage options include regular workweek weekend shift coverage and block scheduling.
How many shifts needed per month: 40 to 60 shifts including weekends & holidays
License: Current active and unrestricted license
Certifications:
  • Nationally Certified - Certified Nurse Practitioner or Certified Physician Assistant
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Board Certification.
  • DEA Copy
Experience needed: Minimum of 3 years of experience within Family Medicine or General Medicine within the past 36 months prior to starting performance.
Special Skills needed:
  • Specialized knowledge of the concepts principles and practices of Internal Medicine General Medicine Pediatrics Family Practice or Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Ability to handle high-volume clinical care effectively and efficiently (seeing an average of 10 to 16 patients per day).
Credentialing / Onboarding time: 6 weeks to 8 weeks after award
Responsibilities:
  • Provide full-scope on-site Outpatient Midlevel medical services to beneficiary patients ranging in age from newborn to geriatric.
  • Utilize RPMS/EHR computer systems to enter and sign medical orders. Follow IHS Purchased Referred Care regulations and policies
  • Maintain familiarity and comply with clinical antiseptic policies departmental guidelines and all Federal State IHS and CMS regulations.
  • Participate in the facilitys quality improvement programs and ongoing monitoring protocols.
  • Participate in a mandatory Wagner IHS Facility Orientation (including an overlap of services for one additional day) completed during a Monday Friday timeframe prior to seeing patients.
