VPK (Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten) Teachers at The Learning Experience- O-Town West are ambassadors of happiness creating opportunities every day that reflect our mission to make a difference in the lives of children their families and communities.
- Lead/Teach approximately 20 children 4-5 years of age with a co-teacher.
- Serve as a role model using a growth mindset to develop young minds and inspire a love of learning
- Implement our proprietary L.E.A.P. Curriculum in our Voluntary Prekindergarten Program (VPK)
- Create a safe nurturing environment where children can play and learn.
- Communicate regularly with parents sharing their childrens latest adventures and achievements through a variety of avenues including mobile apps and personal discussions. Conduct Parent/Teacher conferences.
- Support your centers success partnering with center staff and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment and engagement.
- Build relationships with families and coworkers and create a dynamic environment where play and learning happen seamlessly.
- 2 plus years of professional preschool teaching experience preferred. At least one year of professional teaching experience required.
- DCF 45 (Required)
- High school diploma/GED required
- Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP)
- CPR and First Aid certification required
- Must meet state specific guidelines for the role
- Must have Florida VPK Emergent Literacy Certifications (Required)
- CDA Florida Staff Credential Associate degree or Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- At least 12 years of successful VPK Pre-K or preschool classroom experience
- Previous experience with VPK assessments and kindergarten-readiness instruction
- Experience conducting parent-teacher conferences and documenting student progress
