Our 8th graders are hard at work preparing their high school applications and practicing interview skills is a key step in the process. Thats where you come in! As a volunteer youll step into the role of a high school admissions counselor giving students the chance to practice gain confidence and receive valuable feedback in a supportive environment.
Date: Saturday October 3rd
Time: 10am - 1pm
Location: Town School 540 E 76th St New York NY 10021

Volunteer Responsibilities
- Volunteers will lead 8th graders through a 20-minute sample high school admissions interview. Breakthrough New York will provide an interview guide with questions to ask and a rubric to measure students responses.
- After the mock interview volunteers will provide feedback based on the rubric and work with students on applying it and refining their answers.
- Volunteers will repeat this process for the three students they interview.
- First-time volunteers will be asked to complete short background check.
