Job Summary
Job Description:
The Visual Arts teacher will need be responsible for organizing and maintaining a safe classroom environment ensuring curriculum is aligned with the Public Schools of Brookline K-8 Visual Arts Learning Expectations.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Creating developmentally appropriate challenges instruction and processes that require strong habits of mind support diverse leaning styles and provide opportunities for students to work independently and collaboratively
Requirements Qualifications:
- Highly qualified visual arts educator with strong studio skills
- Well-developed understanding of the art-making processes qualities and techniques to teach in a K-8 elementary visual arts program
- Thorough knowledge of how diverse learners acquire and develop an understanding of the visual arts
- Ability to reflect on personal learning through the analysis of ones teaching practice student learning data and the teaching practices of others
- Ability to be open to constructive critique of supervisors administrators and colleagues
- Ability to collaborate with all faculty
- Bachelors Degree
- DESE certification in Visual Arts K-8
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters Degree
- Experience teaching Studio Habits of Mind
