Worcester Polytechnic Institutes Humanities and Arts Department invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor in Modern European History for the 2026-2027 academic year beginning in August 2026. We especially invite scholars working on Europe since 1700 deploying transregional international comparative and/or global perspectives and methods. We are particularly interested in scholars with a demonstrated record of teaching who can contribute to the departments thematic areas of focus on gender sexuality and womens studies; and/or histories of science technology and medicine.JOB DESCRIPTION
Job responsibilities will include:
Teaching 6 courses and 2 capstone inquiry seminars in History and International and Global Studies.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Historyis preferred;terminaldegreeinotherrelevant fieldswill beconsidered.
- Candidates should have earned their PhD by August 15 2026.
- A track recordof successful classroom teaching at the university level.
- The ability to work creatively and collaboratively across disciplines with faculty staff and students of various experience levels.

Compensation:
$70000 - $78000 per year. Salary is based on related experience expertise and internal equity.
