Job Summary

The Womens and Gender Studies Department/Program at Hamilton College invites applications for the Elihu Root Peace Fund Post-doctoral Fellowship. This is a two-year post-doctoral fellowship at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor in Womens and Gender Studies beginning July 1 2026. We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate their experience and interest in teaching or working with broadly diverse student populations while contributing to a vibrant learning community that values academic freedom creativity and intellectual curiosity. The Womens and Gender Studies Department has three faculty members with broad teaching and research interests and a strong commitment to innovative undergraduate pedagogy and accessible scholarship. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach courses on class U.S. race or ethnicity and/or disability. Applicants with a PhD in womens and gender studies are preferred although candidates with PhDs in other fields will also be considered. The teaching load for this position is three courses a year. The expected 9-month base salary range for this position is $57500 to $60000.
