Job Summary
Responsible for assisting the nursing staff in the continuous monitoring of patients requiring close observation via remote camera monitoring. Works cooperatively with the nursing staff and other patient health care personnel to maintain a safe environment and ensure optimal patient safety and comfort. This position works under limited supervision and receives direction and guidance from the Manager of Virtual Monitoring.
This Role Will Be Responsible For:
Continuous visual alertness without distraction of a computer screen containing 12-16 active patients
Remain alert to 12-16 active patients at all times while on duty; anticipates recognizes and addresses harmful behaviors
Monitor patient behaviors and movements via closed circuit camera with pan/tilt/zoom capabilities
Verbally redirect patients over digital 2-way audio device. Immediately alerts nursing staff as necessary
Maintain calm respectful empathetic and professional tone while verbally communicating with patients staff and fellow colleagues
Meet the expectations of nursing staff in order to keep patients safe
Provide detailed shift-to-shift report on patient activity to colleagues and nursing staff
Requirements:
Mental capacity to verbally interact with 12-16 active patients in various levels of distress and maintaining calm focused demeanor while on duty
Ability to work 12 hour shifts in a 24/7 healthcare environment
Ability to work weekends and holidays as
Ability to orally and in writing report on patient activity as needed
Basic Computer skills and will accompany on the job learning
Experience working in healthcare preferred but not
Education: Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required
Compensation:
Pay Range: $16.50 - $22.11 per hour
Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience qualifications education location licensure certification requirements and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
