About the RoleThe Virtual Designer plays a key role in bringing electrical systems to life through detailed drawings models and coordination. This position supports project teams by transforming concepts into accurate buildable designs that bridge the gap between the office and the field.A successful Virtual Designer at Gaylor Electric has a foundational understanding of along with entry-level experience using Revit and BIM tools. This role is ideal for someone eager to grow their technical skills in electrical design while collaborating closely with Design Engineers project managers engineers and field position will be an in-person position located in either our Noblesville IN office or South Bend IN ResponsibilitiesProject Documentation & DrawingsReview project documents specifications and electrical drawingsCreate update and maintain electrical drawings throughout the project lifecyclePrepare and interpret record drawings based on field inputCoordinate and distribute drawing sets to internal teams and external partnersDesign & Technical SupportDevelop and update 3D electrical models using RevitSupport estimating and scheduling efforts with accurate design updatesBack up drawings and maintain organized digital design filesMaintain a working knowledge of electrical construction practices and drafting standardsTeam CoordinationCoordinate required layout and installation pointsAssist in resolving design conflicts in collaboration as assignedWork independently or as part of a project team to meet schedules and deadlinesCoordinate designs with Mechanical Fire Protection and Special Systems modelsAdministrative & Organizational SupportManage and prioritize workload across multiple projectsMaintain accurate project records and design documentationTrack project deadlines and deliverablesHandle all project information with professionalism and confidentialityProfessional DevelopmentContinue developing technical and industry knowledgeStay aware of current construction and electrical design trendsStrengthen communication documentation and coordination skillsRequired QualificationsEducationHigh School Diploma or GED requiredPreferred ExperienceEntry-level experience with Revit (electrical or construction industry preferred)Exposure to BIM applicationsSkills & CompetenciesFoundational understanding of:Electrical drawings and layoutsOne-line diagramsPanel schedulesConduit requirementsStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracyAbility to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team environmentProficiency in Microsoft OfficeProactive motivated and eager to learn and grow in electrical designMeasures of SuccessProjects delivered on time and within scopeAccurate high-quality drawings and documentationStrong collaboration with field project and design teamsPositive feedback from internal stakeholders and clientsAbout Gaylor ElectricAt Gaylor Electric we are committed to innovation quality and accountability.
