Videography Student Assistant

Cyber Florida at USF is hiring a student assistant to support the Outreach and Marketing team with a variety of video projects. The ideal candidate is proficient in videography and video editing to help with various video projects for the website and social media. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to real-world multimedia projects that raise awareness about cybersecurity across Florida and beyond.

Hiring Salary Range: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Content Creation & Support:

• Plan schedule record edit and publish short-form videos for YouTube web and social media that tell the stories of Cyber Florida
• Work collaboratively with team members to execute larger video projects
• Attend events as needed and as schedule allows to secure video footage
• Research suggest and help incorporate best practices and trends for content creation
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet the overall mission goals and objectives of the Florida Center for Cybersecurity.
  

Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a current USF student with general computer proficiency including experience using MS Office
Experience editing video in Adobe Premiere Pro
Understanding of shot composition framing and camera settings (DSLR/mirrorless)
Experience synchronizing and editing audio
Ability to structure and pace compelling stories through editing for both long-form and short-form content
Comfortable shooting b-roll interviews and live events
Basic motion graphics skills including lower-thirds captions and simple animations
Strong organizational skills including media management and project organization
Interest in cybersecurity technology or digital storytelling
Experience creating content for YouTube podcasts or social media
Occasional evening or weekend availability for special events

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Adobe After Effects
Basic Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator skills for creating thumbnails and graphic assets
Familiarity with multi-camera productions or podcast workflows

Schedule: Flexible based on students class schedules 15-20 hours per week.
