Job Summary
The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh invites applications for a full-time Videographer within theDepartment this role you will conceptualize produce and post-produce high-quality video content that advances the universitys strategic communications marketing and storytelling goals across a wide range of platforms and audiences.
Working in a collaborative creative environment you will capture the breadth of campus lifefrom academic achievements and student stories to athletic events institutional announcements and community partnerships.
This position requires the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions carry andoperateequipment and travel to off-campus locations. Occasional evening and weekend availability isrequiredto accommodate athletic events ceremonies and other campus programming.
- Video Production & Filming
- Plan shoot direct and edit professional-quality video content for a variety of platforms including the university website social media digital signage streaming services andbroadcast.
- Film a diverse range of campus activities including academic programs student lifespecial events ceremonies athletics and community engagement initiatives.
- Operate professional-grade video cameras lighting equipment audio gear and stabilization systems in both studio and on-location settings.
- Conduct on-camera interviews; direct subjects comfortably to achieve natural authentic results.
- Post-Production & Editing
- Edit footage using industry-standard software (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro After Effects) to produce polished final deliverables.
- Apply color correction motion graphics lower thirds and audio mixing to ensure broadcast-quality output.
- Develop andmaintainconsistent visual branding and storytelling standards aligned with UW Oshkosh brand guidelines.
- Manage project files raw footage archives and completed video assets in organized digital storage systems.
- Collaboration & Project Management
- Partner with the Marketing & Communications team to develop creative concepts storyboards and production timelines.
- Coordinatelogisticsfor video shoots including scheduling location scouting talent coordination and equipment reservations.
- Consult with campus departments student organizations and external stakeholders to understand communication goals and deliver targeted video content.
- Balance multiple projects simultaneously meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Athletics & Live Event Coverage
- Provide videography coverage of UW Oshkosh Titans athletic events including game-day highlights features and promotional content.
- Support live streaming operations and broadcast-quality production for select events as needed.
Marketing - Creative Design
Starting at $46000 commensurate with experience
- Demonstrated experience in video production including filming directing and editing.
- Proficiencyin professional video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro After Effects or equivalent).
- Strong working knowledge of camera operation lighting design and audio recording in different environments.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively with campus and community constituents.
- Valid drivers license and ability to travel to on- and off-campus locations including occasional evening and weekend shoots.
- Experience in a higher education nonprofit or media production environment.
- Knowledge of motion graphics animation or 2D/3D visual effects.
- Experience with drone/UAV videography (FAA Part 107 certificationa plus).
- Familiarity with live streaming platforms and broadcast production workflows.
- Photography skills to supplement video assignments as needed.
- Portfoliodemonstratingrange across short-form social content long-form storytelling event coverage and promotional video.
- Bachelors degree in film production communications journalism digital media or a related fieldORan equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
