Compensation:$18/hour
The Environmental League of Massachusetts (ELM)andtheELM Action Fund (ELM AF)are committed to advocating for policy and building political power in Massachusetts to meet the scale and urgency of our environmental challenges.
ELM and the ELM Action Fund seek a Videography Fellow with strong production skills and a passion for creating engaging short-formvideo content.The fellow will help expand ELMs videoandphotographylibrary by producingeducational videos campaign-related content event footageand photos and other digital assets that support ELMs communications and advocacy work.
The fellow will need easy access to their own or theirschoolsequipment (hardware and editing software) as ELM will not be able to provide it.
This position will report to Bianca Pokrzywa Digital Media Manager and be a part of the Communications Team.Additionaltasks may be assigned by other Communications Team members.
Tasks
- Build ELMs video library
- Produce short-form video content that can be used across ELMssocial media platforms and digital communicationschannels
- Lead the production of short testimonialsand/or interviewsabout ELM and the ELM Action Fund includingin partnership withpoliticians donorsstaffand fellow advocacy organizations
- Build video content promoting our endorsed candidates and advocacy campaigns
- Collaborate with the Communications Fellow to prepare scripts andfacilitatefilming
- Capture video and photos at ELM and ELM Action Fund events as needed. (Likely 2-3times a month withappropriate advancenotice)
- Additional Videography and Photography
- Collect relevant b-roll of staff political campaigning clean energy public transit the Boston area and more
- Edit event video and photos
- Create short background videos and other video assets for ELMs websites and digital communications materials
- Support the Communications Fellow in creating scripts storyboards and shot lists for social media videos
Preferred Skills
Competitive candidates will have experience with all stages of video production including filming editing and directing. Experience producing concise engaging videos for digital audiences is a plus. We seek a fellow who will take initiative throughout the production process and who can translate ideas into compelling visual stories.
Interest in political environmental advocacy or documentary-style filmmaking is a plus. While environmental experience is not we do seek someone compelled by ELMs purpose to secure the health and wellbeing of the environment and of future generations.
Terms
$18/hour
Thefellowshours are expected to be 3-5 hours/week depending on production schedules.
Location:This position can mostlyoperateremotely but the fellow will be expected to film in-person eventsin and around Greater Boston social media content and b-roll. Candidates with avaliddrivers license and access to a car are preferred.
Term:The Fellowship will runfromlateAugust throughearly December. Start and end dates are flexible. The position can also be extended into the next session if both parties feel that it was a good fit.
