More about the role:

Based in Washington DC Burson is seeking to hire a Vice President with deep expertise around Technology Policy and Public Affairs Communications for our Corporate and Public Affairs practice.

The VP willleadlarge complex client relationshipscoalitionsand programswith aprimaryfocusonintegrated public affairs communicationsaccount and project management. The VP will advise ontechnologyindustryissues with the ability to synthesize and translate information into knowledge-based communication solutionsstrategiesand tactics in addition to managing thedevelopment andexecution ofdeliverablesand drivingcore team projects.

This is an opportunity to work on globaltechnology policy issuesimpactingstakeholders includingconsumersaround the world.

What youll do:
  • Strategic public relations/publicaffairscommunicationsmanagement andexecutionof the work.
  • Coalitionand client managementto includecross-market coordination integrated communications deliverablesconsultant/vendor workflowoversightandaccount financials.
  • Media relationsstrategydevelopment and execution (traditional digital and social) acrossBeltway corporateandtechindustryplatforms.
Experience that contributes to success:
  • Minimum of 10years of experience incommunication policyrolesofincreasing complexityoperatingin a high-stakes and fast-pacedenvironment.
  • An understanding of U.S. and geopolitical dynamics for the technology industryand experience with policy challenges that technology companiesface.
  • Previousexperience providingcounsel and information within thetechnologypublic affairs / communications orpolicyarenas.
  • Strong relationship development skills with the ability togain trust quickly influenceoutcomesandestablishconsensusdiplomatically and consultatively.
  • Strong writingresearchand strategicanalysis skills.
  • Former in-house government or agency experience preferred.
