Vice President of Geotechnical Engineering

Job Summary
- Accountable for the fiscal responsibility and sound financial management of their department through developing recognizing and implementing practices that increase revenues and decrease costs as well as driving revenue generation through client development and retention.
- Evaluate existing workflows and processes and determine which require documentation cross-training redesign or automation.
- Maximize utilization of existing resources equipment and personnel making changes as necessary
- Lead the formulation and implementation of a strategic plan that guides the direction of the department and achieves the departments financial initiatives.
- Review and track departmental financial performance and budgets including the communication and resolution of significant variances as well as the authorization of budget expenditures.
- Recruit manage and retain department personnel including ensuring that their team has the right processes and tools to be successful.
- Manage department personnel and lead them to success through the implementation of innovative and efficient procedures and processes.
- Oversee the development of standard operating procedures for Geotechnical Engineering services.
- Serve as a senior technical resource for department personnel.
- Perform quality inspection of department deliverables providing coaching/training to teams as necessary to improve delivered product.
- Contribute to the sales and profitability of the business through strategic business development.
- Develop client relationships client retention practices and grow/maintain revenue streams.
- Maintain awareness of both the external and internal competitive landscape opportunities for expansion customers markets and new industry developments and standards.
Computer Software Experience
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly Word and advanced Excel functions is required
- Experience with gINT SHAFT and LPile is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years progressive experience and demonstrated proficiency in the geotechnical engineering field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in business development and client relations
- Demonstrated experience in leading organizational change.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification that is current and registered in at least one state.
- Experience managing geotechnical projects at a holistic level is required.
- Experience in the energy sector is preferred.
- If candidate does not have experience in the energy sector candidate should have experience in telecommunications or other utility related industries and possess the ability to develop a business line in those verticals.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client and strategic partner relationships.

Educational Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Civil or related engineering field from an ABET accredited institution.
Travel
Approximately 10-15% of travel will be required.
