What Youll Do:

• Serve to support the practice teamsettingthe bar for providing high-level proficient veterinary support care and embodying the Chewy Vet Care culture to work collaboratively with peers anddeliverthe pet parent WOW experience.

• Responsible for implementing the outlined policies and procedures using integrated technology and delivering consistent andappropriate medicalcare within the given abilities.

• Perform veterinary assistant skills to support practice veterinarians includingassistancewith operating medical equipment (like lab radiology anesthesia dental) and performing functions that require handling animal bodily fluids and tissues.

• Demonstrate team support and care for others work experiences.

• Understand and follow the practices Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standards of Care (SOC)

• Review invoices with clients and handle client payments.

• Communicate clearly and respectfully with other Team Members keeping veterinarians informed in real time on patient updates (in practice at referral and under home care)

• Beproficientusing the PIMS and aid others on the team in their use of the technology.

• Act responsibly given the pharmacy holdings of the practice and keep controlled substance logs.

• Assistpractice manager with communicating on inventory needs.

• Clean workspaces after every patient or patient lab sample interaction.

• Participation in self-development courses and Chewy Vet Carecompliance training.

• Perform related duties and assignments as directed by management.

• May beto workweekendsposition may require some travel.

WhatYoullNeed:

• Successful completion of an accredited veterinary assistant program is preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to complete the veterinary assistant skills checklist for Veterinary Assistant.

• 0 - 2 years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant in practice.

• Experience in veterinary medicine

• Passionate about helping people and pets with empathy and excellent customer service focus.

• Strong ability to connect with clients anddemonstrateempathy and compassion.

• Excellent verbal / written communication observational and analytical skills.

• Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Job Requirements:

• Standing or walking up to 80% per shift.

• Frequentlylift upto 50 to 70 pounds using an optional team lift.

• Occasionally lift greater than 70 pounds using a team lift.

• Stand push pull carry squat and kneel.
