Flexible scheduling options available (Night/Weekendfocus with cross-coverage / backup to Emergency & Critical Care as needed). Schedules are provided at least two weeks in advance. This position is available at 90%100% FTE (3640 hours per week).
- Assists with and executes the preparation completion and documentation of basic technical animal care procedures assessments and medication administration according to established care plans and medical necessity (25%)
- Maintains organization of and updates records related to medical procedures and billing (15%)
- Assists with routine laboratory tests and specimen collection according to established medical orders and care plans (10%)
- Inventories and organizes supplies (10%)
- Serves as a point of contact for animal owners and stakeholders providing information and answering questions (20%)
- Cleans and maintains organization of animal holding spaces work areas and equipment (10%)
- Documents and disseminates results to the appropriate entities (10%)

The anticipated pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00 per hour but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Experience:Minimum of1year of clinical veterinary experience(such as anassistant/handler in general practice urgent care shelter medicine or specialty setting).
Physical Demands:Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds independently and comfortably perform physical tasks including standing bending and animal restraint.
Completion of a Veterinary Assistant program or relevant coursework.
Experience in an emergency urgent care or high-volume inpatient ward setting.
Strong desireto learn collaborate and grow within a teaching hospital environment.
