About the Role Veterinary Assistant
We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant with some prior assistant experience and a genuine passion for animal this role you will provide daily care feeding and exercise for boarding pets closely monitoring them for any signs of stress or changes in behavior. Youll assist our veterinary technicians and veterinarians by maintaining clean organized and well-stocked treatment and surgery areas and by following proper feeding and sanitation procedures.
About the Role Veterinary Assistant
We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant with some prior assistant experience and a genuine passion for animal this role you will provide daily care feeding and exercise for boarding pets closely monitoring them for any signs of stress or changes in behavior. Youll assist our veterinary technicians and veterinarians by maintaining clean organized and well-stocked treatment and surgery areas and by following proper feeding and sanitation procedures.
This role also involves in-person client interaction so strong communication and customer service skills are key. Most importantly were looking for someone who is a great culture fitsomeone who thrives in a technician-led collaborative environment and enjoys working closely with a supportive team-oriented staff.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Provide daily care feeding and monitoring for hospitalized and boarding pets
- Assist veterinarians and technicians during exams treatments and procedures
- Safely restrain animals and support a technician-driven team-oriented workflow
- Maintain clean organized and well-stocked treatment exam and surgery areas
- Take and schedule appointments and gather accurate patient histories
- Perform basic diagnostics monitor anesthesia and assist with dental cleanings
- Conduct diagnostic imaging including radiographs
- Follow proper sanitation handling and patient-care protocols
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- High school diploma or GED required
- Preferred have at least 1 year of veterinary medicine experience
- Must be a bright friendly and effective communicator in order to communicate with clients visitors veterinarians and other hospital staff. (Its okay if you talk to animals too!)
- Must be able to sit stand walk and move freely for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift 50 squirming pounds
- Must be able to work in a veterinary environment with exposure to infection or contagious diseases
