Veterinary Assistant Full-Time

Bon Air Animal Hospital is a trusted full-service veterinary practice serving the Richmond community with high-quality compassionate care for companion animals. Our team is committed to clinical excellence client education and creating a supportive team-oriented workplace.
We are seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about animal care eager to learn and motivated to support veterinarians and technicians in delivering exceptional patient care.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Assist veterinarians and teammates during examinations and procedures
- Safely restrain dogs and cats for exams treatments and diagnostics
- Prepare exam rooms treatment areas and surgical suites
- Clean disinfect and maintain hospital equipment and workspaces
- Support basic laboratory procedures (sample collection preparation and processing)
- Monitor hospitalized patients and report changes to the medical team
- Provide compassionate care to patients and excellent service to clients
- Assist with feeding walking and maintaining patient comfort
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- Prior experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in an animal care role preferred
- Strong animal handling and restraint skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Compassionate dependable and detail-oriented
- Ability to lift up to 4050 lbs and stand for extended periods
