Quakertown Veterinary Clinic is growing our Small Animal team and is looking for caring motivated Veterinary Assistants for both daytime and overnight shifts. Whether you already have veterinary experience or are looking to continue building your clinical skills this role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced veterinarians and technicians in a collaborative 24-hour hospital.

As a Veterinary Assistant youll help support the medical team while ensuring our patients receive attentive compassionate care. Daily responsibilities may include:
- Assisting veterinarians and licensed technicians during examinations and medical procedures
- Safely handling and restraining dogs and cats for treatments and diagnostics
- Preparing patients and equipment for exams procedures and surgery
- Collecting laboratory samples and performing basic in-house testing as directed
- Administering medications and treatments under veterinary supervision
- Taking diagnostic radiographs following hospital protocols
- Preparing prescription medications and assisting with refill requests
- Recording patient information treatments and charges in the medical record system
- Communicating with clients in a professional and compassionate manner
- Helping maintain a clean organized and well-stocked treatment area
We offer both full-time and part-time opportunities with a variety of schedules including:
- Day shifts
- Evening shifts
- Overnight shifts
- Select holidays
Additional compensation may be available for qualifying overnight weekend and holiday shifts.
The ideal candidate is dependable eager to learn and enjoys working as part of a team.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience in a veterinary hospital animal care setting or similar environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stay organized while managing multiple priorities
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with coworkers
This position involves an active work environment. Candidates should be able to:
- Lift up to 40 pounds independently
- Assist team members with lifting and moving larger patients
- Stand walk and move throughout the hospital for extended periods
- Safely handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments
