Veterinarian Medical Director Arvada CO
A veterinary practice is seeking an experienced Medical Director to provide high-quality medical care while leading and mentoring the clinical team. This role combines hands-on general medicine and surgery with team leadership clinical development client communication and practice compliance.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive veterinary examinations diagnostics medical surgical and dental procedures.
- Diagnose conditions develop treatment plans and explain findings and recommendations to clients.
- Maintain accurate patient medical and surgical records.
- Lead mentor and develop associate veterinarians and clinical team members.
- Provide feedback and support to improve medical quality teamwork client service documentation and efficiency.
- Support the development of veterinary technicians and assistants.
- Promote consistent high-quality patient care and minimize patient stress and discomfort.
- Stay current with developments in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education.
- Oversee applicable safety operating and regulatory compliance procedures.
- Manage controlled-substance accountability and related records when designated.
- Support ordering storage inventory reconciliation and disposal of controlled substances in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Collaborate with veterinary professionals and practice leadership.
- Travel as needed.
Qualifications
- DVM VMD or equivalent veterinary degree from an accredited program.
- Active veterinary license or eligibility to obtain one.
- Required professional credentials and licenses.
- Previous experience in veterinary medicine.
- Leadership or team-management experience preferred.
- Strong clinical communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
- Compassionate and client-focused approach to veterinary care.
