Description Of Job Duties
Responsibilities: Manage logistics for monthly Veteran Lunches including invitations food ordering serving clean up and agenda creation Serve as liaison to current and alumni student veterans and ROTC cadets Facilitate mentoring meetings with select student veterans as requested Serve as Student Veteran representative on the Veteran Success Team Manage Student Veterans Alliance (student organization) to ensure all requirements are met Assist with planning and logistics for Hail & Farewell Banquet (April) Maintain update and staff the Veteran Resource Center Work with Admissions to get trained as Tour Guide to lead tours for prospective student veterans and follow up with all veterans whove expressed interest in NC Represent the department at Campus Events including Admission Visit Days Involvement Fairs etc. Outreach once/semester to military-affiliated students on campus including dependents and spouses using GI bill benefits Represent the department in a professional manner Other duties as assigned Desired Skills of Applicant Veteran or military-affiliated applicants strongly preferred Effective communication skills both verbal and written Self-motivated responsible and punctual Ability to take initiative and work independently Attention to details and multitasking Strong relationship-building skills with persons of diverse backgrounds
Job Qualifications
Current Junior or Senior standing Grade point average above 2.5 Ability to work 2-3 hours per week during academic year Strong communication skills Strong relationship building skills Knowledge of computer programs/applications (i.e.: Word Excel Publisher Facebook)
