Job Summary
Summary:
The Vessel Operations Technician position is responsible for overseeing the day to day work performed on the barges. This position coordinates tasks between Trailer Bridge Vessel Maintenance Technician and sub-contractors to ensure work is getting completed in a timely manner.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain schedule among the Vessel Maintenance Technicians to ensure they are informed on vessel movements for bringing in the RORO
- Oversee sub contractors to ensure work is being completed with efficiency
- Make sure there are enough supplies for the Vessel Ops team PPE etc.
- Contact vendor to handle dumpster pick ups as to not allow for trash buildup
- Keep track of pertinent daily checks on equipment fuel levels and inventory of rigging equipment necessary for RORO operations
- Aid in planning projects to make sure the vessels stay in compliance with applicable federal regulations
- Assist terminal operations as needed to help cargo keep moving on and off the barges
- Assist with tasks as directed by the Director Vessel Operations
- Uphold company policies core values and represent Trailer Bridge in a positive manner
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Valid Drivers License
- Must be able to obtain a TWIC card and JAXPORT Access Credential
- Physically able to withstand environmental conditions working outside
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule including extended hours as needed. Typical workweeks may range from 5070 hours depending on vessel schedules operational demands and project needs.
