Job Summary
Responsible for the day-to-day administration and support of shipboard IT infrastructure including servers and workstations satellite and network communications and installed software applications aboard Company-managed vessels. Participate in the planning and execution of various vessel-related technical projects including vessel reflags and hardware upgrades. Provide technical advice and training to mariners vessel managers and IT personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical support for the MLL fleets IT infrastructure including shipboard networks satellite communications servers workstations network printers and other IT equipment used aboard MLL vessels.
Assist in the deployment and execution of shipboard IT infrastructure upgrades maintenance and support.
Coordinate the activities of internal and external service providers as related to vessel IT goals.
Review and update Company technical procedures processes and work instructions.
Ensure adequate data protection capabilities are in operation at all times.
Provide for backup and recovery of vital shipboard data and services.
Monitor the performance of provided services and take corrective action to maintain or improve information technology services provided to the MLL fleet.
Make recommendations for new or upgraded information technology services and equipment for the MLL fleet.
Execute new or upgraded services for the MLL fleet.
Coordinate with the vessel managers and other Maersk Line Limited personnel to provide adequate and timely technical support to MLL vessels.
Maintain technical and configuration documentation of company-owned workstations and servers aboard owned or operated vessels.
Administer and monitor the company antivirus program across all Maersk Line Limited vessels including the deployment of definition updates to workstations servers and email environments.
Coordinate and execute the deployment of security patches and service packs for vessel workstations and servers verifying successful installation and troubleshooting failed updates.
Work occasionally outside standard business hours including nights weekends and public holidays depending on vessel schedules or emergencies.
Occasional travel to vessels shipyards and repair facilities including international travel.
Supports commitment to safety and other selected company standards and certifications
Performs other position-related duties as specified by management
Position Specifications:
Education and Experience
At least three years of experience supporting computer network and infrastructure environments.
Associates degree or higher in an IT field strongly preferred or equivalent experience required.
Technical Skills and Competencies Required
Knowledge of enterprise infrastructure including server cloud network backup and endpoint security technologies is required. Specific experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud Azure Local Microsoft failover clustering Powershell Cisco Meraki Veeam and CrowdStrike preferred.
Experience installing configuring and troubleshooting workstations servers networks and related hardware and software environments including Windows 11 and Windows Server 2019/2022 is required. Previous experience in a Linux environment is a plus.
Ability to analyze technical requirements and recommend effective solutions.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical problem-solving and research skills.
Strong customer service communication and collaboration skills.
Self-motivated detail-oriented and able to work independently.
Relevant technical certifications preferred.
Must be a U.S. citizen eligible of obtaining a security clearance from the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA). MLL is a drug-free work environment and requires employees to take random drug tests during their employment with the company.
This position requires access to vessels and safety sensitive facilities and therefore requires a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).

While in the office general office settings apply; typically the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work usually at a computer terminal - with short breaks or lunch periods. However there may be some bending/stooping reaching above shoulder level walking; standing; carrying of items such as servers printers or packages of up to 70 pounds. Should be able to hear & speak clearly using phone / headset to communicate with customers; be able to navigate view & enter information on the computer. Must be able to pick up computers and be able to crawl under desks to connect systems.
In addition to the physical demands and work environment of the office employees must meet the following physical demands and work environment to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Ability to safely climb ladders gangways and scaffolding and to move through confined spaces tanks and machinery areas.
Extended periods of walking standing bending or working in awkward positions during inspections.
Lifting or carrying equipment up to 70 lbs
Adequate vision hearing and depth perception to perform inspections in varying light and noise conditions.
Exposure to heat cold humidity vibration odors and potential hazardous substances (with appropriate PPE).
Working in operational areas with noise moving machinery and variable weather conditions including during vessel operations.
Presence in industrial repair settings with heavy equipment welding blasting and other maintenance activities.
Safety-critical role: Work in compliance with company HSE procedures and maritime safety regulations with a strong focus on hazard identification and mitigation.

Pay Range:
$60000 - $75000*
*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
