Maria Parham Health a Duke LifePoint Hospital is the regions healthcare provider offering comprehensive services supported by skilled physicians nurses and clinical specialists. Fully accredited by The Joint Commission and the College of American Pathologists we deliver exceptional care through our advanced Emergency Department Maternity Center Intensive and Progressive Care units Medical/Surgical services and inpatient rehabilitation. Maria Parham also offers stateoftheart physical occupational and speech therapy on an outpatient basis ensuring patients receive highquality accessible care close to home.

Our system extends to the Maria Parham Franklin facility in Louisburg which features a fully equipped Emergency Department specialized Behavioral Health units and additional outpatient diagnostic services. Across our 205 licensed beds we provide advanced cardiac cancer respiratory and rehabilitation care supported by cuttingedge technology and key partnerships. How youll contribute

Under the general guidance of the physicians/providers performs a variety of diagnostic ultrasonographic procedures.

  • Receives patients explains method of procedure and makes sure patient is comfortable.

  • Provides patient services to all ages using imaging modalities.

  • Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices.

  • Maintains equipment and supplies and organizes work area.

  • Keeps accurate records helps with scheduling of the ultrasound and keeps patient flow smooth.

  • Checks the physicians requisition for complete information on the procedure requested refers any questions to the ultrasound physician before performing the procedure.

  • Assists the radiologist/referring physician in invasive procedures using sterile technique while maintaining infection control guidelines.

  • Recognizes the significance of all structures that are visualized on the monitor and be able to differentiate artifacts from anatomic/pathologic structures within equipment limitations.

  • Possesses an in-depth knowledge of anatomy/physiology technical expertise and able to improve standard procedures to enhance diagnostic results when needed.

What were looking for:

  • Associates degree Required; Graduate of approved program of Sonography.

  • ARDMS or CCI registered or eligible for Vascular registry and pass within one year of hire.
  • State license to practice as a Sonographer.

  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • Must be able to meet requirements of departmental on call policy
