Varsity Boys Basketball Coach

Position Overview

The Varsity Boys Basketball Coach is responsible for the overall leadership development and management of the boys varsity basketball program. This includes coaching program planning and supporting the academic personal and athletic growth of student-athletes. The coach will work collaboratively with the Athletic Director and other members of the athletics department to ensure alignment with school goals and policies.

Responsibilities

• Plan organize and oversee all aspects of the varsity boys basketball program
• Develop and implement effective training conditioning and skill development programs
• Prepare student-athletes for practices and competitive events
• Promote high standards of conduct accountability and team culture
• Ensure compliance with all school league and governing body regulations (including WPIAL and PIAA)
• Collaborate with the Athletic Director coaches faculty and staff to support departmental goals
• Monitor and support the academic progress and personal development of student-athletes
• Assist in program evaluation development and long-term planning
• Foster positive relationships with students families and the school community

Qualifications

• Previous coaching experience at the high school middle school collegiate or club level preferred
• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals strategy and player development
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and motivate student-athletes
• Excellent communication organizational and leadership skills
• Commitment to fostering a culture of respect teamwork and sportsmanship
