Job Summary

Clinical Excellence/Patient Care

Provides prompt safe transportation for the patient volunteers and staff during the transportation process.

Practice defensive driving at all times and always adhere to all traffic rules and regulations

Assists the clinical and registration staff to assure continuity of care for the patient prior to and during the transportation process as indicated/requested

Use critical thinking and follows transportation protocols and processes to validate the appropriateness for each trip.

Clinical Excellence/quality

Provides safety checks to transport van prior to transporting at the start of each shift.

Reports deficiencies malfunctions and/or needed repairs and regular maintenance to manager.

Restocks cleans refuels the patient transfer van as needed assuring the van is prepared for the next transportation of passengers.

Provides support to assigned CCH department(s) when not actively providing NEMT patient transportation or related Transport Van Driver Duties during any scheduled shift.

Basic Clarke County Hospital (CCH) Performance Criteria

Demonstrates Clarke County Hospital Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to hospital policies and procedures and safety guidelines.

Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular reliable attendance.

Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.

Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA DIA DNV OSHA EMTALA IDPH and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.

Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.

Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.
