Van Driver 4.5 hoursday

LOCATION: Rossford Exempted Village School District

Rossford Schools is seeking a dependable safety-focused individual to serve as a Van Driver for the school year. This position is responsible for providing safe reliable transportation for students to and from school and other designated locations while maintaining a positive supportive environment for students and representing the district with professionalism.

Schedule: 4.5 hours per day
7:009:00 a.m.
1:304:00 p.m.

Compensation: Hourly rate in accordance with the negotiated agreement.

The Van Driver is responsible for the safe efficient and timely transportation of students in accordance with State of Ohio regulations and district policies. The successful candidate will operate a district vehicle safely maintain appropriate student supervision complete required safety inspections and communicate effectively with families and school staff to support student success.

• Safely transport students to and from school and other designated locations following assigned routes and schedules.
• Conduct required pre-trip vehicle safety inspections before each route.
• Maintain a safe clean and mechanically sound vehicle reporting maintenance concerns promptly.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of students during transportation and maintain appropriate student behavior.
• Follow all state laws district transportation procedures and safety regulations.
• Report accidents incidents unsafe road conditions or vehicle concerns according to established procedures.
• Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation.
• Attend required meetings in-service training and annual safety training.
• Communicate professionally with students families school staff and community members.
• Assist with emergency transportation procedures as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor or Superintendent.

Candidates should possess:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid drivers license with at least five (5) years of licensed driving experience.
• Valid Passenger Endorsement (or ability to obtain prior to employment).
• Successful completion of all required pre-employment screenings including a criminal background check driving record review physical examination and drug screening.
• Successful completion of the districts required van driver training program and certification requirements.
• Ability to safely operate a passenger van in a variety of weather and road conditions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated commitment to student safety.
• Dependability professionalism and sound judgment.
• Good health strong attendance and a commitment to maintaining a drug-free workplace.
