- Oversees and supervises operational activities of all mainline utility systems and facility specific utility service connections. Mainline systems include: steam/condensate potable water wastewater wastewater irrigation compressed air natural gas central equipment rooms and process vacuum piping. Facility service connections are any combination of the above mainline services as well as operation and troubleshooting Heating Ventalation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems. Assigns tracks and reviews preventative maintenance work packages for Utilities Department mainline systems HVAC air filters hot and chilled water loop systems and cooling tower operations. Plans and directs the activities of a group of Utilities Operators (including breakdown and assignments of staff) to perform jobs falling within recognized craft utilities jurisdictions as required. Responsible for the oversight of all craft activities on job sites as assigned. Directs oversees and is responsible for proper performance of all contractor mechanical lock out/ tag outs.
- Directs oversees coordinates and supervises maintenance and services activities in a professional craft environment specifically the supervision of utility operations. Makes recommendations to effectively accomplish assigned duties and maintains all applicable records necessary to document the operations within areas of responsibility. Manages personnel and material resources following all operation policies union agreements and safety health and security standards. Responsible for the oversight of all craft activities on assigned work sites. Position requires the managing directing and coordinating the activities of Operating Engineers (Utilities Operators) and other personnel as assigned; effectively managing personnel and material resources to maintain assigned areas; coordinating training programs covering operations in assigned area of responsibility; developing operating procedures; effectively accomplishing utilities operations and maintaining all applicable records necessary to document the operations within assigned area including personnel and operation policies logs union agreements and safety health and security standards; ability to obtain a State of Texas Class C Water and Wastewater Certification; working knowledge of utility equipment and system operations; knowledge of regulations governing the mixing application.
- Bachelors Degree with: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- NOTE: Applicants without a Bachelors Degree may be considered based on a combination of 13 or more years of completed education and/or relevant experience.
In addition to the above requirements the applicant must also meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e. High School Diploma and 3 years nuclear experience or a DOE O 426.2A alternative). DOE O 426.2A experience requirements can be satisfied following the interim newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities. (Ref. Preferred candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in a technical and/or business-related discipline with at least 5 years of related experience.
