FUNCTIONALPURPOSE:

Servesasaninstructorina classroomlaboratoryand/orvirtualsetting.

DUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serves as an instructor in the delivery of Postal training courses overseeing the training activities of course participants in classroom laboratory virtual and field environments.
• Uses training equipment supplies facilities and fiscal resources in implementing and delivering approved training programs for course participants.
• Manages training activities to ensure course objectives are met during the prescribed time period.
• Serves as a subject matter expert in the design and maintenance of training courses and materials in coordination with training development specialists. Assists with the development of new training and materials and the revision of existing training programs.
• Maintains and develops the knowledge bases required for delivering training by reviewing reference materials such as standard operating procedures (SOPs) vendor-based documentation and training materials manuals handbooks bulletins and trade periodicals; attending training sessions and seminars; and visiting field locations.
• Prepares for training delivery by gathering and preparing materials including maintaining equipment and submitting requisitions for parts services supplies and equipment.
• Evaluates and documents student performance and comprehension of course materials.
• Identifies student learning obstacles and develop action plans for resolution.
• Ensures the safety and well-being of staff and students by ensuring prescribed safety procedures and practices.
• May provide guidance and training to new instructors in the use of effective instructional techniques. May conduct peer reviews of instructors.
• Application of principles of electricity for circuits using up to 480 volts.
• Emphasis is on the use of alternating current (AC) as applied to transformers motors motor controls and wiring methods.
• Classroom and laboratory instruction on the installation troubleshooting repair and preventive maintenance of building electrical circuits. Systematic method to accurately identify electrical malfunctions and efficiently analyze circuitry to pinpoint the exact source of the problem including electrical and mechanical safety.
• Utilization of the National Electrical Code.

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED

REQUIREMENTS:

• Knowledge and experience of automotive electrical systems and engine diagnostics sufficient to maintain and troubleshoot light delivery vehicles.

This position requires that you gain and maintain a USPS Sensitive Clearance.

This position is dependent upon you maintaining access to the USPS facility.

As a non-exempt employee working on a federal contract this position is subject to the Service Contract Act (SCA) Wage Determination (WD) No. Revision No. 22. Health & Welfare Benefits paid leave accrual and sick leave accrual will be offered in accordance with SCA.
