Job Summary
Role & Responsibilities:
- Source and onboard asset-based carriers.
- Leverage freight volumes to negotiate and purchase multi-modes of transportation including asset-based High Value TL and flatbed LTL services.
- Identify preferred carriers by services.
- Support Stations carrier routing guides.
- Manage carrier contracts and CLM through contract awards and renewals (including reviewing service agreements and pricing amendments) and managing contract terminations.
- Responsible for service compliance to include insurance certification operating authorities driver requirements and on-time deliveries.
- Handling all billing and reporting compliance.
- Responsible for carrier review process.
- Responsible for evaluating all carriers performance and updating information in Veroot.
- Communicate new carrier information to the region including services products and benefits.
- Manage and administer RFP/RFQ process for the region.
- Working collaboratively with Station Heads and trans-ops teams to evaluate analyze and recommend national regional and local carriers (all modes) for service improvement or replacement for agreed upon cost savings to support overall corporate transportation budgetary thresholds.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree (Business Management Engineering Transportation or associate field) or 3-5 years related experience and/or training or equivalent of education and experience.
- Minimum 3 years experience in domestic transportation management freight forwarding and logistics (domestic or international freight forwarding).
- Excellent computer knowledge advance Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Experience with web-based transportation procurement platforms is preferred.
- Excellent organization analytical written and oral communications skills.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment while exercising sound judgement.
- Ability to think creatively and strategically to solve complex problems.
- Must be a confident self-starter who can develop effective business relationships both internally and externally.
- Candidates must be self-motivated customer service oriented and eager to ensure the success of the team.
- Ability to function independently with minimal supervision and thrive within a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment.
