Looking for more than just a summer job As an Urban Youth Summer Intern youll gain hands-on experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities while exploring a meaningful career in Human Services.

Through the Department of Developmental Services Urban Youth Collaborative Program youll build real-world skills connect with your community and make a differenceall in one summer.

Under the direction of the Vice President of Advancement and the Senior Digital Marketing Specialist the Intern will support the execution of Seven Hills Foundations internal and external communications strategies. This role will assist in creating and delivering engaging content that informs employees and external audiences while reflecting the organizations culture and core values. The internship will also provide exposure to event coordination and development initiatives. As part of the Urban Youth Program the Intern will gain valuable knowledge and understanding of the human services field.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support with daily living activities such as personal care meals and routines.
  • Help individuals engage in community outingsthink parks restaurants libraries concerts and more.
  • Plan and lead fun structured activities like arts & crafts music cooking and social events.
  • Promote independence dignity and inclusion in everything you do.
  • Encourage social interaction and skill-building through group and community activities.
  • Work closely with a team to ensure consistent high-quality care and support.
  • Follow program guidelines safety protocols and participate in trainings and team meetings.
  • No experience requiredjust a strong interest in Human Services
  • Compassion patience and a willingness to learn
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to assist with daily living tasks and mobility support (training provided)
Qualifications
  • Must be 1824 years old
  • Currently enrolled in high school a training program or college
  • Reliable transportation
  • Availability for the full program July through August
