Position Summary:
The Uptime Spec and Design Engineer will be involved in all projects with system interaction to provide technical guidance to the project managers optimizing time spent on projects. This role will also assist in real world testing data from our equipments systems as they are designed today as the Project Manager assists in optimizing system operation or problem resolution. As an Engineering SME this individual will provide guidance to the maintenance organization in regard to technical solution development repair process development root cause analysis and vehicle system failure pattern recognition.
Major Responsibilities:
Datalogging and Testing Current/Future Equipments Systems Performance
Assist Uptime Project Manager in Evaluations
Assist Reliability and Uptime in Repair Procedure Development
Assist Reliability and Uptime in Technical Solution Development
Develop New Automotive and Truck System Concepts Methodologies and Standards (Including TMC and SAE involvement)
Other projects and tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Associates Degree required
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Mechatronic Electronic Engineering Mechanical or Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred. If no degree equivalent work experience is required
Professional Engineer certifications preferred
4 years of automotive or truck industry experience preferred
2 years of engineering experience preferred
Knowledge of vehicle systems with demonstrated ability to apply concepts
Proficient in the analysis and simplification of complex systems to support uptime and reliability goals
Proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks software for design and documentation purposes
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong technical writing capability with experience producing clear accurate engineering documentation and specifications
Demonstrated ability to apply critical and adaptive thinking to resolve complex multi-variable engineering challenges
Data-driven decision-making mindset with experience processing interpreting and acting on technical data
Innovative problem-solving approach with a focus on reducing downtime and improving operational efficiency
Ability to break down and communicate complex system information to both technical and non-technical audiences
Strategic time management skills with the ability to prioritize and execute across multiple concurrent projects
Proven team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional departments
Natural leader who takes initiative drives accountability and supports the growth of those around them
Highly organized with strong attention to detail in both documentation and project execution
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present findings and recommendations clearly at all levels of the organization
Regular predictable full attendance is an essential function of the job.
