Job Summary

The Production Department at LGC Standards in Manchester NH produces analytical single and multi-element reference standards both in organic and aqueous matrices as well as botanical and other standards. Our standards are used for AA/GFAA ICP ICP-MS IC XRF RDE UVF wet chemistry techniques and QC applications. We are ISO 9001 ISO 17025 and ISO 17034 accredited.

The main function of this role is to produce reference standards in a clean and safe lab environment.  This position will require creating or generating waste that is hazardous by regulation or that must be handled as hazardous waste regulations and company procedures require.

Employees in this role may be assigned to multiple facilities operations or processes some of which are sensitive to nicotine and other environmental contaminants. Individuals must comply with all site-specific contamination control hygiene and work practice requirements including any SOP defined restrictions related to nicotine-containing products tobacco vaping products fragrances solvents or other substances that could adversely affect product quality research manufacturing or operational integrity. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Embody the LGC core values on a day-to-day basis and work within a team to be collaborative efficient and values based. 
  • Prepare stock and custom bulks per Quality System Procedures
  • Use ERP system to maintain lab stock and an accurate warehouse inventory. 
  • Follow standard operating procedures.  
  • Set-up operate and maintain a variety of laboratory equipment (reactors high shear mixers balances etc.). 
  • Follows as well as possesses strong written and verbal instructions.  
  • Verify Calibration of balances volumetrics and other laboratory equipment. 
  • Demonstrates consistent reliable performance.  
  • Works effectively as part of a team as well as independently with minimal supervision.  
  • Exhibits organizational skills and attention to detail.  Keep workspace clean to minimize hazards and contamination.  
  • Demonstrates math and computer skills.  
  • The ability to meet production goals.  
  • Learn quickly and is easily trainable.  
  • Maintains the ability to problem solve and apply retained knowledge.  
  • Ability to learn chemical nomenclature properties and proper handling of chemicals.  
  • Adhere to company Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) policy. 
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned by management to meet business needs. 
  • Assist in problem solving issues with products as they arise. 

Qualifications :

Essential Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • 6 years experience in a production laboratory. 
  • High School Diploma GED Related experience/training or equivalent. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft windows. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products. 
  • Proficient in internet-based application programs. 
  • Two-year degree in science or other technical field. 

Desired Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • BS in Chemistry with 2 years laboratory experience. 
  • Experience working in a laboratory setting including ability to create and follow standard operating procedures. 
  • Advanced experience utilizing Microsoft Office products such as Excel and Word and the currently used ERP system. 
  • Experience with Analytical Chemistry and Metal Standards a plus.
