Operating Room Unit Secretary
Second shift (1430-2000); Monday -Friday
Surgical Services I Lexington KY
Baptist Health Lexington Surgical Services Department encompasses several key areas: the Pre-Op Department 20 operating rooms with a business office staff responsible for scheduling a Postoperative Care Unit an Endoscopy Department with dedicated pre- and post-op areas and a Sterile Processing Department.
Description:
- Answers telephone in a timely manner using proper etiquette.
- Greets and assists visitors patients staff physicians and others at unit desk.
- Answers inquiries and/or refers to appropriate resources.
- Communicates effectively with other departments.
- Relays messages promptly.
- Works cooperatively with other services.
- Maintains patient and organizational confidentiality at all times.
- Ensures positive customer relations interactions.
- Safety transfer and transports patients within the hospital.
- Performs errands and other clerical/clinical duties as directed.
- Safely transports specimens to laboratory.
- Obtains items needed from tube system pharmacy etc. when necessary.
- Records name of patient and attending physician on PACU log.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Computer skills.
- Possess basic knowledge of medical terminology.
