Unit Coordinator-Med Surg-(24 hours Days)

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Unit Coordinator for its 82-bed behavioral health hospital located in Brockton MA. BMC Brockton operates as a behavioral health accountable care organization providing cutting edge inpatient treatment and stabilization for individuals experiencing complex mental health and substance use needs.



The Unit Coordinator is responsible for providing quality care services to patients by supporting the daily operations of the inpatient psychiatric unit. The Unit coordinator will perform administrative and clerical tasks as needed including answering phones assisting with patient registration assisting with intake requests and communicating with patients staff and guests.

Schedule: Part Time Days

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

• Patient Registration

• Coordinate and prioritize tasks maintaining daily flow of the unit in a complex rapidly changing environment

• Communicate with staff families and other departments utilizing effective communication skills

• Effectively coordinate communications involving incoming calls and e-fax

• Gather intake information and patient records

• Review referrals and verify all information

• Assist with data collection and reporting that complies with local State and Federal guidelines

• Maintain confidentiality of all patient care information to assure rights are protected

• Maintain a good working rapport with interdepartmental personnel as well as other external referring agencies

• Other duties as requested by supervisor

Compensation Range:

$17.50- $26.00

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer.
