Make your mark in Underwriting

AIG underwriting teams help to find insurance solutions in areas including Financial Lines Property Casualty Specialty Lines Cyber Multinational Clients and High Net Worth individuals. This is an opportunity for an Underwriter with an entrepreneurial spirit to partner with us as we launch a new line of business. We are reimagining how we help customers to manage risk transforming our operating model and reshaping our role responsibilities and career pathways. How you will create an impact

• Independently select monitor and price new and renewal business according to Company guidelines per Underwriters level of authority as outlined in individual Authority Letter.
• Market our products and services and travel to assigned wholesale brokers as required.
• Communicate with brokers regarding rating underwriting and policy issuance issues.
• Assist in the training of support staff interns and PAs within the team as well as within the Department.
• Assist implement or coordinate special projects and timetables such as revised forms new coverages/classes research and Underwriting Guide revisions.
• Assist in planning coordinating and implementing in-house education training or other company functions.
• Represent the company in a professional manner at industry functions conventions and corporate events.

What youll need to succeed

• An undergraduate degree
• Minimum 2-4 years of Commercial Insurance Company Agency or Brokerage experience preferably within the Financial Institutions space.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships
• Working knowledge of US Financial Intuitions business including product features forms regulatory environments and risks etc.
• Demonstrated sales marketing and relationship building experience ideally with the Wholesale marketplace
• Ability to work in dynamic rapidly changing environment adapting to changing requirements and collaborating with a wide range of colleagues to quickly deliver solutions
• Willingness to be flexible learn on the job and maintain a can-do attitude
• Comfort with analytical tools and technology

For positions based in New York the base salary range is $75000-$95000. For positions based in Chicago the base salary range is $67000-$87000. For positions based in Denver the base salary range is $60000-$83000. In addition the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. Your actual compensation will be dependent on your skills experience and qualifications.
