Undergraduate Student Office Assistant (Fall 2026)

Position Introduction:

The Office Assistant will work with the Office Manager and other South Central Climate Adaptation Science Center (CASC) staff to assist in administrative duties at the South Central CASC. The South Central CASC is a science organization that works with decision makers across the south-central US providing learning opportunities technical assistance science translation data and tools and other information to help build more resilient ecosystems and communities. This position is ideal for a student keen to develop professional skills and enthusiastic to be a part of a collaborative office environment.

Key duties will include:

• Provide general administrative and operational support for department and office activities including assisting with the planning scheduling setup cleanup and coordination of office meetings and events
• Provide assistance with maintaining department google spreadsheets distributing office mail and updating office email lists
• Summarize key takeaways and action items during conference calls workshops speaking events and other meetings as needed
• Ensure relevant correspondence is delivered to all student employees
• Assist the Office Manager with maintaining office supply inventory and office cleanliness
• Manage the offices recycling needs by ensuring Styrofoam and plastic bags are delivered to designated recycling depositories
• Maintain and monitor the office library database in collaboration with the National Weather Center library
• Assist with office hospitality welcoming and assisting visitors and helping maintain a friendly and welcoming office environment
• Other duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience:

Must be currently enrolled in the Fall 2026 Term as an undergraduate student at the University of Oklahoma.

Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.

• Ability to lift/carry 35 pounds to help with event tabling
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time during outreach events
