Quality Staffing Inc. also doing business as Goddard Mason Executive Search a leading full-service employment agency matching qualified talent with some of the areas top companies is looking for an experienced Unarmed Security Guardto work through our agency as a contract employee with the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (TN MHSAS) located in Nashville TN. This is aday shift position working from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and will include working during the week as well as weekends.The pay rate for this position is $21.00 per hour.
Unarmed Security Guard Responsibilities will include:
- Under general supervision this position is responsible for institutional and related security work of average difficulty and will perform related work as required.
- May be assigned to work any shift to provide a full range of institutional and other security activities such as protecting public buildings.
- Performing various security activities such as patrolling facilities monitoring alarms and security systems checking safety hazards and identifying violations of laws and rules.
- Operating security equipment in the performance of duties including two-way radios communication devices patrol vehicles and other transportation vehicles.
- Controlling the entrance and exit of individuals by verifying identity purpose of visit and authorization; escorting individuals as needed to ensure their safety.
- Responding to calls and taking appropriate action to assist in emergency situations; searching for and apprehending missing or unauthorized individuals.
- Reporting security concerns to supervisors; communicating with law enforcement agencies to exchange information and request assistance.
- Preparing and maintaining various reports including incident reports vehicle citations visitor logs and personal property reports.
Education and Experience Requirements for Unarmed Security Guard position:
- Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school is required.
- Qualifying full-time law enforcement security or related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Other Requirements and Information:
- Must have a valid drivers license
- A current CPR certification (preferred but can certify with TN MHSAS if needed)
