Job Summary

Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist
Location: Brooklyn NY
Type: Contract 13 Weeks
Shift & Schedule: Day Shift Monday Friday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM 37.5 Hours Per Week
Pay Rate:
Local Rate: $56.25/hour
Travel Rate: $65.00/hour

Position Overview:

Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a Ultrasound Technologist for an exciting Travel or Local job in Brooklyn NY.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and/or assist in diagnostic ultrasound examinations following established protocols.

  • Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures and explain the process when necessary.

  • Operate adjust and maintain ultrasound equipment safely and effectively.

  • Ensure patient and staff safety by following all radiation and equipment safety guidelines.

  • Capture document and transfer imaging results to PACS and physician workstations.

  • Maintain cleanliness readiness and proper functioning of ultrasound equipment.

  • Ensure adequate imaging supplies are stocked and available.

  • Assist radiologists and other medical staff as required.

  • Schedule exams answer phones and coordinate patient transportation when needed.

  • Mentor and assist in onboarding new ultrasound staff when applicable.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support department operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist (Sono Tech).

  • Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).

  • Certification/education aligned with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) standards.

  • Current BLS certification (AHA required).

  • Associates Degree in a related field (or equivalent education).

  • Strong knowledge of ultrasound procedures imaging protocols and equipment operation.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer systems.

  • Experience using PACS and related imaging software.

  • Strong attention to detail accuracy and patient care standards.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in high-volume hospital or diagnostic imaging settings.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.
