East Houston Medical Center is seeking an experienced compassionate and detail-oriented Ultrasound Technologist to join our this role you will perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations that support accurate patient assessment timely diagnosis and exceptional clinical care.
The ideal candidate is a skilled imaging professional who demonstrates strong technical ability sound judgment and a commitment to patient-centered service. This position requires professionalism accuracy and the ability to work collaboratively with physicians nursing staff and other members of the care team.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with physician orders departmental protocols and established imaging standards.
- Prepare patients for examinations and explain procedures clearly and respectfully.
- Operate ultrasound equipment to obtain quality images for interpretation.
- Evaluate image quality and make necessary adjustments to ensure diagnostic accuracy.
- Document procedures accurately and maintain complete and timely records.
- Communicate critical findings or concerns to the appropriate clinical personnel.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA hospital policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Participate in equipment care quality assurance and departmental workflow as needed.
- Collaborate with radiologists physicians and clinical staff to support efficient patient care.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of recent ultrasound experience preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or equivalent training required.
- Current certification through ARDMS preferred or required depending on specialty.
- BLS certification required or the ability to obtain upon hire.
- Strong knowledge of ultrasound procedures anatomy physiology and imaging techniques.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and patient care skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Commitment to professionalism accuracy and quality patient service.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in general obstetric gynecologic vascular or other specialty ultrasound applications.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and imaging documentation systems.
- Prior experience in acute care or hospital-based imaging preferred.
Physical Requirements
This position may require standing for extended periods lifting or assisting patients as needed and the ability to perform repetitive motions associated with ultrasound procedures. Candidates must be able to meet the physical demands of a clinical imaging environment.

Required Education:
