We are seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist specializing in Breast Imaging to perform high-quality diagnostic and interventional ultrasound procedures. This role requires strong expertise in breast imaging including assisting with biopsies and ensuring accurate diagnosis through advanced imaging techniques.
- Perform routine and advanced breast ultrasound examinations
- Conduct diagnostic imaging for masses cysts abscesses and other abnormalities
- Utilize Doppler and color-flow ultrasound techniques as needed
- Optimize image quality and ensure accurate documentation in PACS systems
- Perform portable ultrasound exams when required
- Assist physicians with ultrasound-guided breast biopsies aspirations and interventions
- Prepare and position patients appropriately for procedures
- Clearly explain procedures to patients and caregivers
- Provide patient-centered care following A.I.D.E.T. standards
- Adapt care based on patient needs including cultural and language considerations
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment and related systems
- Perform routine equipment calibration cleaning and maintenance
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues
- Participate in quality assurance and infection control protocols
- Utilize systems such as EPIC PACS and related platforms
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation
- Assist with scheduling and clerical duties as needed
- Support efficient departmental workflow and compliance
- Provide guidance and training to students and junior staff
- Maintain continuing education (CEU) requirements
- Support departmental needs including occasional overtime
- Adhere to organizational policies and safety standards
- Minimum 2 years of ultrasound experience with strong breast imaging focus
- Experience in:
- Breast diagnostic ultrasound
- Breast screening
- Breast biopsies and interventional procedures
- Proficiency in breast ultrasound imaging techniques
- Strong knowledge of:
- Breast anatomy and pathology
- Doppler ultrasound
- Image optimization
- PACS systems
- Sterile techniques
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Program
- Minimum 2 years of Allied Health/College training
- RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) Required
- ARDMS certification Required
- BLS certification Required
- Ability to lift at least 25 lbs
- Push/pull up to 50 lbs
- Stand for extended periods (minimum 6 hours/day)
- English proficiency (speaking reading writing) required
- 5 years of breast imaging experience
